Trevor Charbonneau, MA, MLP

Pronouns: he/him/his

I have been working in the field since 2020. In therapy, I strive to create a calm and inviting environment so that clients feel safe enough to discuss trauma and any other concerns that are impacting their daily life. I understand that clients’ identities are comprised of many different factors, including gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, etc. I also recognize that there are systemic, relational, and historical factors that impact individuals. As a therapist, my goal is to foster a safe and accepting atmosphere that will allow clients to work toward engaging in growth mentally, emotionally, and personally. I see therapy as a very personal experience that requires a non-judgmental, genuine, and compassionate relationship between client and therapist.

I have worked with children, adolescents, college students, and adults in individual and group therapy in inpatient and outpatient settings. This work has included working with clients dealing with several different issues, such as anxiety management, crisis intervention, early childhood and complex trauma, post-traumatic stress, social skill development, substance abuse, and adjustment concerns. I have also conducted intellectual and personality assessments, as well as trauma assessments for children who have experienced complex trauma. I have a passion for working with individuals from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds and assisting them toward personal growth and self-discovery.

I completed my master’s in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University. My diverse work, education, and training experiences have provided me the opportunity to work with adults, adolescents, and children in individual and group therapeutic settings.

I am a Master’s Limited Psychologist (MLP) in the state of Michigan, which allows me to diagnose and treat mental health disorders. As an MLP, I receive ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist, Julie Meredith Davis, Ph.D., LP.
