Melissa O’Kray, Kalamazoo/Wyoming

I am passionate about fostering growth and healing through an interpersonal approach, which allows me to integrate different techniques to match your therapy needs. My approach is rooted in the belief that the quality of our relationships profoundly influences our emotional well-being. By prioritizing the therapeutic relationship and understanding each individual’s unique experiences, I strive to help clients build resilience, self-awareness, and a sense of empowerment.

With a dedication to inclusivity and a deep respect for diverse identities, I am committed to providing compassionate support to individuals from differing areas of life. I aim to collaborate with clients to navigate their challenges and achieve their personal goals, ensuring they feel valued and understood throughout their therapeutic journey. I understand that my life experiences may differ vastly from yours, so I believe you are the expert, and I am a guide and collaborator throughout your therapeutic journey.

My focus is on working with children, adolescents, and members of the LGBTQAI+ community. I aim to create a supportive and affirming therapeutic environment for all clients by placing strong value on open communication, honesty, and authenticity. Therapy can be a vulnerable and potentially anxiety-provoking experience, so I also enjoy using humor to create a more relaxed environment.

I am currently earning my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. I am working as an intern at Meredith Psychological & Testing Services, LLC, where I am under the direct supervision of Dr. Julie Meredith Davis.
