Life can be hard. It can feel even more challenging when you feel alone in your struggles and need some additional support to move through them. I strive to work with you through these challenges by recognizing and building off your strengths, supporting your growth, and providing a space where it is safe for you to be vulnerable, be yourself, and find yourself (if you are feeling lost). Along with building a therapeutic relationship, I understand there is no “one size fits all” approach when working with clients, which is why I use approaches and techniques that work to best fit your needs. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, and I want to work with you to process what is going on; the hope is you can take the skills and knowledge gained in therapy to meet life’s challenges after the therapeutic relationship has ended.
I have prior experience stabilizing individuals in crisis from a brief solution-focused model to help them through that moment when they are having thoughts of suicide, difficulty with depression, family issues, and a myriad of other overwhelming, debilitating situations. I have therapy experience working with adolescents and adults with various backgrounds and identities. Some of my areas of interest include working with college students, anxiety, depression, adjustment, divorce, relational issues, and grief/loss.
I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology at Western Michigan University and am currently a Temporary Master’s Limited Psychologist (TMLP). As a TMLP, I receive ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist, Julie Meredith Davis, Ph.D., LP.
