Enter into children’s play, and you will find the place where their minds, hearts, and souls meet. ~ Virginia Axline
While life can, at times, seem discouraging or unmanageable, I am a firm believer that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling and enjoyable existence. In therapy, I work with clients from a holistic approach while tailoring each session to the specific needs of the client. I work to create realistic and achievable goals with each of my clients, understanding that they are the experts of their lives and are allowing me a glimpse into their world. With the use of empathy, transparency, humor, and respect, I strive to create a cohesive therapeutic environment that will lead to growth and healing. I work from a person-centered approach and aim to encourage my clients to meet their goals through collaborative dialogue to better understand the underlying thoughts or patterns that often drive emotion and behavior.
I have worked with individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. I have experience working with clients with ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and personality disorders. While I work with individuals of all ages, I have most experience working with children and adolescents. With this population, I utilize play therapy and art therapy techniques to foster a strong therapeutic alliance.
I earned my master’s in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University in April of 2023. I am a Temporary Master’s Limited Psychologist (TMLP) in the state of Michigan. As a TMLP, I receive ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist, Julie Meredith Davis, Ph.D., LP.
