Elyse Schultz, MA, MLP

Pronouns: she/her/hers

I have been working in the field of human services since 2019. My focus in treatment is working to build strength and resilience in clients by working collaboratively to build a therapeutic alliance that encourages trust. I work to be multiculturally competent and knowledgeable about how intersections of identity affect each client uniquely.

I completed my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University in 2019, where my training emphasized diverse counseling techniques, a developmental focus, and a social justice framework. I am a queer-identifying therapist specifically trained to work with the LGBTQ population including polyamorous folks. I have experience working with trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, family issues, emerging adulthood, and career counseling. I use a client-centered framework of treatment focusing on trauma-informed and strengths-based techniques but am also thoroughly trained in CBT and DBT-informed techniques and am open to a variety of schools of thought to best serve the client.

I am a Master’s Limited Psychologist (MLP) in the state of Michigan, which allows me to diagnose and treat mental health disorders. As an MLP, I receive ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist, Julie Meredith Davis, Ph.D., LP.

To schedule an appointment, please call the main office at 269-459-1818. Please know that I am currently doing both in-person and telehealth therapy.
