Meredith Training Institute (MTI) provides culturally responsive mental health training that advances the field of psychology and strengthens clinicians’ capacity to identify, challenge, and dismantle systemic oppression. Our work is grounded in culturally responsive methodologies, research, education, and social justice advocacy.

Our Mission

At Meredith Training Institute, our mission is to cultivate a community of skilled, culturally responsive mental health professionals through comprehensive education, innovative research, and dedicated advocacy. We prepare clinicians to engage ethically and responsively with the communities they serve by centering equity, cultural humility, and non-Western ways of knowing.

Continuing Education & Training Opportunities

MTI also mentors interns and trainees through partnerships with licensed psychologists and community organizations, ensuring training reflects real-world clinical and community needs.

Advocacy

Advocacy is central to MTI’s work. We actively address systems of oppression impacting marginalized communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Transgender and Gender Expansive individuals, and others with oppressed identities. Through education, collaboration, and community engagement, we foster culturally responsive environments that center lived experience and collective liberation.

Research

MTI advances scholarship through culturally responsive and innovative research methods. Our work examines intersecting systems of oppression, including race, gender, and identity. We aim to uplift non-Western, community-based, and collectivistic healing practices to promote equity and systemic change.
