“It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” — Epictetus

The problems that individuals encounter are usually a combination of interpersonal factors and environmental factors. In order to understand the challenges with which individuals are faced, it is important to pay attention to the context within which those challenges occur. As a result, I adopt an empathic and non-judgmental attitude when working clients. I am mindful of their unique identities. I believe that suffering is universal and that, at some point in our lives, we have all experienced some form of suffering. Through counseling, I offer a safe space for healing and restoration of individuals’ mental health. My experience working with clients faced with trauma has taught me to be mindful of the client’s concerns and the trauma history leading to the stated concerns.
