Liz Solan has been working as a therapist for three and a half years. Liz hopes to create a space where clients can express themselves authentically, without fear of shame or judgment. Her goal is to first create a relationship with the client, and then work on current concerns. She focuses on exploring thinking patterns and how these patterns play into emotional hurt and discomfort.
Liz earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. Her education and training emphasize developmental and relational aspects. She has also had training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma. Liz uses thinking patterns to work on improving relational dynamics and emotional distress. Her private practice includes working with adolescents, adults, individuals, couples, LGBTQ+, minorities, and men. She is comfortable working with those with anxiety, depression, anger, eating disorders, relationship concerns, substance use, and trauma.
Liz is licensed as a Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP) in the State of Michigan. This allows her to perform intellectual and psychological testing, as well as diagnose and treat mental health disorders. As an LLP, she receives ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist, Julie Meredith Davis, Ph.D., LP.
