In the words of Carl Rogers, “It’s not about getting the feeling out of the mind, or hiding it, but about experiencing it with acceptance.” As a therapist, I believe it is my responsibility to provide a safe and supportive environment that will enable a client to experience and share their feelings without judgment from the outside world. Through the development of the therapeutic interpersonal relationship, I will walk side-by-side with my clients to facilitate awareness, growth, and desired change to enhance their respective lived experiences.
Having spent many years in the medical field as a medical transcriptionist, I decided to pursue my passion for psychology and return to school. Upon completion of an Associate’s degree and Certificate in Addiction Studies from Grand Rapids Community College, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Central Michigan University. I am currently completing my Master’s in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University.
