Elyse has been working in the field of human services since 2019. Her focus in treatment is working to build strength and resilience in clients by working collaboratively to build a therapeutic alliance that encourages trust. Elyse works to be multiculturally competent and knowledgeable about how intersections of identity affect each client uniquely.
Elyse completed her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2019. Her training emphasized diverse counseling techniques, a developmental focus, and a social justice framework. Elyse has experience working with trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, borderline personality disorder, severe and persistent mental illness, and career counseling. Elyse has worked with a wide array of populations but is specifically trained to work with the LGBTQ population, adolescents, and those with chronic mental health concerns. Elyse utilizes a CBT framework of treatment but is also thoroughly trained in DBT informed techniques and is open to a variety of schools of thought to best serve the client.
Elyse is licensed as a Master’s Limited Psychologist (MLP) in the state of Michigan. As an MLP, Elyse receives ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist, Julie Meredith Davis, Ph.D., LP.
