He has over 20 years experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of mental health concerns including those related to special education needs and behavioral disorders as well as other diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and contextual and situational factors that impact the overall functioning of youth. D’Andre is experienced in working with adults struggling with substance use, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and interpersonal/relational concerns. He has worked extensively with a variety of cultures and ethnicities including African Americans, Native Americans, and those of Hispanic and Asian backgrounds. D’Andre is an ally of the LGBTQA+ community. He strictly adheres to the American Psychological Association’s code of ethics and protects the privacy and confidentiality of those with whom he works. D’Andre’s goal is to create a safe, calm, and laid-back environment in order to help clients explore the contributing factors to their struggles and identify strategies and techniques to improve their lives. He believes finding relief from current struggles as soon as possible is a priority. D’Andre understands that there are many factors that contribute to an individual’s experience in the world including events of the past, relationships throughout a lifetime, and present circumstances. He works with clients to examine these factors in a meaningful way in order to empower people to have a positive impact on their own lives.

D’Andre attended Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University, and earned his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Western Michigan University. Prior to becoming a therapist, he worked for Grand Rapids Public Schools within the special education program with students labeled “emotionally impaired.” D’Andre has spent years working with individuals within a variety of settings including outpatient/office services, in-home, and in-school services.
